In a surprise move, the Corp Comm today voted to close the electric retail discussion, but left open the possibility of opening other dockets to look into technological innovations in delivering electricity.
The decision was made after the commissioners received advice from its attorneys that electric retail faces constitutional impediments. The vote was 4-1 after R Burns amended G Pierce's motion to close the docket to say that the Corp Comm would open other dockets related to this issue at some point in the future. B Burns voted against the modified motion.
